Day 8- Last day in Indiana

The last day is always the hardest.  The kids played, while we did laundry and packed for the next leg of our journey.  Thanks Grandpa, and everyone for the wonderful visit!

Day 7- Dayton, Ohio (the Pittl clan)

We met up with my dad's family for lunch at the famous Marion's Pizza.  It was so lovely to see my aunts and uncles, but it was only four of the eleven siblings.

My cousins Denise and Anita.  Denise is the first granddaughter (second grandchild, a few months younger than Kurt), and I was the last grandchild born before the first great-grandchild was born, Mark (Denise's son). And now Mark is a new grandpa.

Back to the hood!

When my dad took me to Ohio for Christmas 1984 it felt like I was in the Back to the Future movie (which didn't come out until the following summer).  It was fun to take my kids there.

St. Mary's Catholic Church.  My grandma was a devout member here before she moved to Idaho.

St. Mary's School, where my dad attended from grades 1-8.

Ruskin School, where my mom attended from first to eighth grade.

Stivers High School, where both of my parents attended.  There was a cool German Fest happening while we were visiting.

As a school for the arts, it had a cool sculpture garden.

I really liked these ones.

Bossler Mansion, a Second Empire style mansion, by the high school.

The house on Corwin St, where my dad grew up.  This house was in our family for about 60 years, from the mid-1950s to the mid-2010s.

We also went to Union, to visit my Aunt Carolyn, and cousin Kurt.

I want to add here this awesome picture of my Aunt Barbara's FIVE generations!  She's here with her daughter, Denise, her son, Mark, his son, Bailey, and his daughter, Josephine.  Family is the greatest blessing!

Dad made one last stop at Kroger's before heading back to Indiana.

He brought out 2 pounds of Esther Price chocolates, the best in the world!

I can't wait to visit with my family here again!

Day 7- Dayton, Ohio (the Barlow clan)

We got up early and drove over to Ohio to visit with extended family.  Our first stop was to a darling park in the Oregon District to visit with my Uncle John (mom's brother).

I love spending time with my family!

The house on James St that my mom's family used to live in.  They also lived on Henry St, Nassau St, McReynolds St, McClure St, Richard St, Grant St, Xenia Ave, they moved a lot!
