On our way to pick up Kaleb from Notre Dame, we stopped in Detroit. First, we visited Henry Ford's home.
Our next stop was to the Henry Ford Museum of American Innovation. It is a great museum!
They have the largest display of Hallmark Christmas ornaments too! This is the one that started our own collection back in 1997.

Besides the indoor museum, there's also an outdoor component- Greenfield Village. I want to live here! So did Henry. He moved lots of famous buildings and homes of famous people to create this charming town. His childhood farmhouse is here, and he would come during the summers with his family to secretly live in it, while tourists were out and about exploring the village.
The Model T was created in 1908, and by 1912 the first food truck was born!
We were delighted that Thomas the Tank Engine was visiting the same day we were. We just wish our kiddos were with us too!
We finally got to have Culver's butter burgers, fried cheese curds, and frozen custard, yum!
