Relief Society

Our Stake Relief Society sisters gathered for a day of service projects and a lovely luncheon.  It is so good for me to gather with these wonderful women.  When we combine our efforts we can do even more good in the world together!

 

Down Syndrome Awareness

October is Down syndrome awareness month.  This year was extra special as I got to go into Macy's Kindergarten class and read this story.  Macy is different and the kids know that.  I wanted them to know why and to not be afraid of her.

At the end of this school year, her teacher told me that her classmates aren't afraid of her.  If anything, they care more for her.  This made my heart sing.

Oh, let us all love one another just as we are!

Matching Sisters

The big dress used to be Noé's.  Her friend, Emma had the exact same one, and Emma's sister, Molly had the little one (that she gave to Macy when she out grew it).  I love Ali and Macy wearing these dresses.  I only wish I had one in Noé's size now for her to wear with them ;).

This picture popped up in my Facebook memories, perfect timing!  This picture of Noé and I was taken in 2012, the pictures of Ali and Macy were taken in 2022.  A whole decade went by in a blink!

My Favorite Season?

Summer is actually my favorite season, but fall is a close second.  Why?  Because it is the HOLIDAY season!

We've got Halloween in October.

Thanksgiving in November.

And Christmas in December.

I know technically, Christmas is in winter, but winter only starts 4 days before hand, so most of our celebrating of it is still in the fall.

Unfortunately, this season is also the start of the Cold & Flu season, boo.  Winter is too cold for me, and spring here is just an extended winter- so long live summer and fall!

Orange

I chose this artwork by Elena Galaxy Art to reflect my feelings about my ancestors reaching out to me to hear their stories.

I don't know much about my native heritage, except for the fact that my great-grandmother was of the Cherokee tribe; and through family history work, Leonard discovered I am the 11th great-granddaughter of Cetanwakanmani, Chief of the Leni Lenapi Nation who was born in 1595.

My children are wearing orange shirts to school today and I hope they will learn more about our heritage in their lifetimes.

Leonard and I went on a nice stroll and the orange trees felt especially poignant.

 

Our home is 3!

Our home is three years old, AND our neighborhood is finally completed.  Len and I walked every street and found of the 430 homes here, our home has 20 twins!
