A Closer Look

We have had a funky spring!  A week of summer weather, followed by freezing rain, and a few days of regular balmy spring weather.  Some of our flowers decided to peek out.  They're just tiny so I went in for a closer look.

Love these white hyacinth,

 Our daffodils are getting ready to say hello.

Love these frogs the neighbors gave to us.  They're so chill!

Especially today, it snowed and snowed!  I hope my flowers can survive this funky climate change.

Jolly Jumper

It's so fun to have a baby in the house.  He thinks his little exersaucer is pretty fun too!

I like to eat caterpillars

Well, at least I like to eat caterpillars that are made out of cake.  

Teague turned 3, so we had a little family party for him.  Love his sweet smile! 

He opened his presents like a champ.  That wrapping paper didn't stand a chance! 

I'm not sure what this face means, but I think his cheeks are so smushy I just want to kiss them! 

Time to blow out the candles (Daddy helped him).

and Mommy.  I had been up since 3:45 that morning, so I was ready for a little cake- ice cream- buttercream pick me up.

On to cupcake #2.  Love his blue lips and the expression on his face.  It reminds me of Gavin's 2nd birthday.

On to cupcake #3.  Love this expression too.  I only took about a hundred pictures of him eating his cupcakes, I think he was telling me to knock it off now.  We all had a really fun day celebrating our Teague.  When Len tucked Gavin into bed that night, he said "Today was the best birthday ever!"  I love my sweet kids.

Food, Folks, and Fun

While Len was in Utah he got to have dinner at one of my favorite restaurants, Rubio's with some of my favorite people, the Cannon's. I'm so jealous =). Around the table- Len, Lincoln, Dorothee, Spencer, Nathan, Alexander, Molly's son, and Molly. Guilio took the picture.

Gettin' Big

Hiram's going to be 6 months old soon, so today I took him in to get his pictures taken. He's such a cute little preppy.

You have to take diaper shots when they're little and the photographer had so much fun, that she took tons.

She got some really cute close-ups of his face smiling at her, but I liked this little profile one too.

She missed that I wanted his diaper shots with this blanket, so she took a few more in the basket. He's getting all cozy for his nap.

I changed his shirt when I got him dressed again and we tried for a couple more, but remember how he was ready for his nap already? Yeah, he was having none of it. I still think his little sad face is cute though.

I love you little Hiram! I'm so glad you're my son!

I loved dressing my Barbies up when I was a little girl. Now that I have real-live dolls, of couse I love to dress them up too! For now they let me, so it's great fun!

Sibling Revelry

Teague just loves his brothers and sisters. For the longest time he called himself Teague, and all of his siblings Noe. He can finally say each of their names now. This video is of him doing just that. (I remember when Gavin used to call Kaleb, Chachi).

My friend is a speech-language pathologist and she said her rule of thumb is- speaking by 2, understood by 3. At 2, Teague was the strong-silent type, so we began the process of getting help from First Words. Almost a year later, this is what has happened- I went to the Parents Info Night, his assessment was postponed (the assessor was sick, but we haven't got a rescheduled appointment yet), and he did get a hearing test. This was useful because it showed that even though he can hear, his ear drums don't move AT ALL! There is so much fluid behind them that they just don't budge. He may outgrow this problem, or doctors may have to fix it. We're still waiting to hear back from our doctor about this. He is talking more and more though, so maybe by the time he gets to participate in this "early intervention" program, he may not need it. I just hope by the time he starts school in the fall of 2013 he'll be speaking clearly.

Teague LOVES books and lately he just can't get enough of them.


This morning he found a comfy spot and read for a good while.

A coffee table for a foot rest and a daddy for a pillow- it doesn't get much better than this!
