Fast Friends

All of Hiram's siblings love him so much. I was a little worried for my Teaguey boy (since he was the former "baby"), but he adores Hiram and always wants to hold him and love him. I hope they will be the best of friends through out their lives!

Pretty Poppies

On 11-11-11 our kids celebrated Remembrance Day with an assembly at school. Kaleb got to lay a poppy wreath for his class and Noe got to sing in the school choir. I am so grateful for all of the Canadian and American soldiers who earned the freedoms I enjoy. I'm also grateful my kids are learning of their sacrifice. We will never forget!

Halloween Haunting

We always put up decorations inside, but this year we did a little bit more outside. Since we had been having unusually warm weather and lots of rain, our jack-o-lanterns were nice and wrotten by Halloween- creepy!


Kaleb dressed up as a member of Parliament. However, he was also called Mozart and George Washington by his classmates.

Noe was the Queen of the Nile, Cleopatra- and yes, she walked like an Egyptian.

Gavin dressed up as his most favorite toy- Thomas, of course!

Teague was a race-car driver.

Hiram was a cute little ghost. Boo to you baby!

My FIVE little pumpkins!

Jenn brought dinner over to us, the cutest "mummy" dogs and salad.

She also helped me and Hiram pass out candy, while Len took the 4 big kids around the block for their own trick-or-treating.

Our darling neighbors with their beautiful red hair and eyes (bwahaha, they're students from Monster High!).

Of course, for dessert we had lots of candy and watched our favorite "It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown."

I wanted to share a quote I heard at our recent General Conference that I just love. Elder Neil L. Andersen quoted from an article by Rachel Jankovic on the blog desiringgod.org. She said, “Growing up in this culture, it is very hard to get a biblical perspective on motherhood. … Children rank way below college. Below world travel for sure. Below the ability to go out at night at your leisure. Below honing your body at the gym. Below any job you may have or hope to get... Motherhood is not a hobby, it is a calling. You do not collect children because you find them cuter than stamps. It is not something to do if you can squeeze the time in. It is what God gave you time for.”

My goal is to always try to use my time wisely in raising my children. And for now to savor this sweet time when they are so little!

Meeting the family

Our dear friends Jackie, Jenn, and Diane each watched the kids for us for a day while we were in the hospital. On Saturday, Len brought the big kids up to meet their new little brother. Here is the first family photo of the SEVEN of us!

We really enjoyed the hospital where Hiram was born, because he got to stay with us the ENTIRE time!! Daddy got to give him his very first bath even, but Hiram thought the water was way too cold compared to the hot tub he enjoyed with Momma for so long.
