Grandpa, will you 'pursh' me?

That's what Noe asked her Grandpa in her little southern drawl everyday. And her Grandpa always obliged her, along with Kaleb, and Gavin.



I can remember swinging on my first swingset in this backyard when I was only 5 years old. Now Kaleb & Noe are 5 and Gavin is 6 months, and they're swinging under the huge shade tree.


Gavin loved playing in the backyard, whether he was in the pool, in his special swing, in his exersaucer, or just sitting in the grass. Gotta love the great outdoors!

Backyard Splash

Grandparents know how to spoil kids in summer- with a huge, new swimming pool! Kaleb & Noe had lots of fun cooling off in it together and with the Bryson's and their cousins. I got in a couple times too, but it was a little chilly for me and my chicken-self. Grandpa even helped Gavin kick his feet in it.

We were in Idaho from June 20th until July 15th. We had lots of fun splashing in Grandma & Grandpa's backyard, Uncle Karl & Aunt Mary's fun dinosaur pool and slip 'n slide, and at the Sprinkler Park with the Bryson's. Nothing beats splashing around on a hot summer's day!

Chuck E Cheese

The kids and I flew back to Idaho with Grandma & Grandpa Green Eyes. Grandpa took us on our annual trip to Chuck E Cheese. The kids had a blast as usual!

What kid wouldn't love a day at Chuck E Cheese? You get to ride rides, play games, win prizes, watch the musical show, and eat pizza!

I remember going to Chuck E Cheese when I was a kid. I'm still a kid at heart and love watching my own kids enjoy it now.

I live in Taiwan

I know I've lived in Taiwan for almost 2 years, but every now and then it will just hit me. Life gets busy with chores, school, and work that sometimes it just feels like home. Every once in a while something will happen to remind me that "oh yeah, I live in Taiwan." And I think it's cool! Our home here is the 8th floor of the tall apartment building on the left.

Dadda's Day

Today is Father's Day and I am so lucky to spend it with my own father, and I am so lucky because I have the most wonderful man who is the father of my children. We spent the day at Yehliu Geo Park and had a great time.


Leonard you are just an amazing husband and father. We all love you so much!


Kaleb, Noe, and Gavin always know how much your daddy loves you! And Leonard, your kids love you so much too!



I'm so grateful Leonard that you are close to my dad, and my second dad (mom's husband). They are both so important to me and I'm glad they're important to you too!


Leonard your parents are truly angels. They were such wonderful parents to you, and they just set an excellant example that you have followed.

Yehliu Geo Park

We visited Yehliu Geo Park and had a wonderful time exploring this natural phenomenon, despite the humidity that felt like it was 200%.

I love how kids make friends so quickly. This cute brother and sister wanted to practice their English with Kaleb and Noe, and the 4 of them instantly became friends.


I love it when Noe and Kaleb are pals!


Gavin is like his big bro & sis in the fact that he is a super-trooper through all of our weekend warrior expeditions. He is just a sweetheart!

It was a super busy day and the parking lots were crowded and expensive. A nearby restaurant told us we could park at their restaurant for free if we ate there after our excursion. It sounded like a great deal to us. You know how you get yummy bread with oil & vinegar at Italian restaurants, or chips & salsa at Mexican restaurants as an appetizer? Well at this Taiwanese restaurant we got this plate full of little dried fish. We didn't want to be rude, but we just couldn't bring ourselves to try it. No thank you with a big smile.

The road trip that wasn't

Today we all piled in the van to go to Window on China. However, it started raining and after sitting in traffic for an hour we decided to change our plans. We went to Chili's for lunch and then went and saw the movie "Shrek the Third." We still had a fun day, no matter the weather!

WuLai

We drove out to Wulai Village today to see the home of the Atayal Tribe and this gorgeous waterfall.


This statue depicts how the grooms used to carry off their brides riding on a chair on their backs. We watched an amazing dance performance where they even performed this wedding ritual.


A few of the wonderful performers. They seriously did an amazing job with their dance and gymnastic abilities. At the end they even asked audience members to join them. Dad, Mom, Leonard, and Noe were able to dance in the final number.


We rode a gondola up the mountain to DreamLand. The kids wanted to go on the Haunted House ride, so we obliged them. Len took Kaleb and I took Noe. I laughed the entire time, because I was too scared to open my eyes. My 5 year old daughter was braver than me! It started raining, so we didn't stay long.


Being up in the lush mountains with the rain clouds descending on us, it felt like we were in a dream!


We did some souvenir shopping on this darling little street, and then we ate dinner at a local restaurant. We also had some bings for dessert. Across the street from us was another restaurant that had a pathetic looking black squirrel in a cage. We couldn't tell if it was a pet or on the menu. Luckily, our cuisine wasn't as exotic.
