Total Eclipse of the Heart

A road trip down to the ruins at St. Raphael to enjoy the eclipse in totality.
Surreal experience as the sky and sun turned black.
The sunlight rectangles behind us in the third and fourth pictures, from the sun shining through the windows of the ruins, disappeared entirely, then reappeared as the sun broke out from behind the moon.

"Our mortal eyes don’t allow us to see a fraction of the magnificence that is around us.
Pretty sure that applies to everything; flora, fauna, people… everything."
Thank you Marilyn Swann Smith for your wise words, and for this fabulous photo from NASA!
