Dear family and friends,
We wanted to send our love this holiday season and share some highlights of our 2024. Our theme this year has been “On the Move.”
Macy is loving her new ‘Chez K’ class. She is thriving with her wonderful teachers and new friends, who make her feel included, welcomed, and cheer her on.
Ali is flourishing in fifth grade and is enjoying her after school activities of musical theater, dance, and learning the clarinet in band.
Hiram is finding his way in seventh grade. He’s made some great friends and likes being part of the design & coding and drama clubs.
Teague is settling into his sophomore year. His brother and friends convinced him to join the Dungeons and Dragons club and he also joined the creative writing club.
Gavin, our Santa baby, turns 18 in December. We can’t believe he’s already a senior. He is also in Dungeons and Dragons, and is part of the Romania club - supporting children in Romania.
Noé graduated magna cum laude from BYU-Hawaii in April, and the whole family was able to travel there to celebrate. She and Josh are back in Canada working as real adults now.
Kaleb completed a summer internship in Samothrace, Greece. Now he is with his architecture cohort from Notre Dame studying in Rome, Italy for the year.
Jennifer is also back in class, trading her paint brushes for French workbooks. She is hoping to get settled in and start painting again soon.
Leonard is thrilled to be at Canada’s delegation to the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development. He loves being back in France thirty years after serving his mission here.
It was hard to say goodbye to our dear friends in Canada, but we know we’ll see them again. This summer we visited Ohio, Indiana, Kentucky, Washington, California, and Arizona. We were grateful to attend the Pittl family reunion, Rachel and Derek’s wedding with the Barlow family, and Madison and Josh’s wedding with the Reil family. We began our new life in France with a little vacation to Brittany and Normandy. St. Malo, Dinan, Mont Saint-Michel, Rennes, Merlin’s tomb, and the menhirs of Monteneuf made us excited to spend the next four years in this beautiful and historic country.
We hope 2024 has been a blessing to you. We would love to hear about your highlights! We also hope 2025 will bring you more joy, and that you remember you’re always welcome to come visit us!
