The Language of Flowers

I met Leonard a month and a day after my 18th birthday.  He entered the MTC the day before my 19th birthday.  However, he had prearranged to have flowers delivered to me on my birthday.  The bouquet had 8 beautiful, significant flowers.  There was one lily representing "I", four snapdragons representing "love", and three carnations representing "you".  I was missing Leonard so much that day, but I felt so loved by him.

This year we celebrated our 19th wedding anniversary! (Seriously, I don't know how this is possible since I'm only 25, ha ha.)  This time we picked out these beautiful flowers together.  The irises represent "I", the hydrangeas and carnations represent "love", and all the yellow flowers represent "us"- each other, our sons, and our daughters.  I absolutely love them and I absolutely love us!

We also went out on a date to see The Huntsman: Winter's War,

and had our traditional steak and shrimp dinner at Moxie's (they know how to make steak, yum!).

Moxie's also knows how to melt our hearts with ice cream.  We ordered a white chocolate brownie for dessert and it came out with this sweet wish "And Many More ♥" written in caramel sauce.  We will have many more happy anniversaries.  I love you so much Leonard Reil and I love us even more now than I did 19 years ago!!

Zootopia

Lucky Teague got two dates in April, his birthday date AND his parent date.  Len and I took him out to eat at Eastside Mario's and then to see...

...Zootopia.  Len and I thought the movie was great, unfortunately Teague found it a little scary.  We all still had a great night together!

Sausage Curls

When Noé was little her hair made perfect ringlets all on their own.  After she had encephalitis her hair starting growing in straight (not sure if it was from all the medications she was on, or that was just the age her hair would have done that anyway) and she just had curls at the ends that eventually got cut off.

Gavin and Hiram had some curls too, while Kaleb and Teague had "feathers".

Ali's hair hasn't been quite as curly as Noé's was, but she still has some cute sausage curls all her own!

Her hair likes to stick together into one BIG curl in the middle.

"What are you doing taking a picture of the back of my head, silly mommy?"

I just love these sweet curls and hope they'll stay for a little while longer.

"Here's a cheesy smile mom!"

Oh, how I love her!!

Skyzone

This darling boy turned 7!!
(When we moved back to Canada, Kaleb and Noé had just turned 7 and Teague was a newborn.  Time really flies!)
His birthday was on a Thursday, so he took in some animal-shaped erasers to give to his classmates at school (no cupcakes allowed, boo!).

That evening we had our new "traditional" pancakes for dinner.

Cheese!  Actually, they were topped with strawberries and fresh whipped cream.

On the following Saturday we had his family party.

We had some yummy orange cake.

And he opened his gifts and cards.

All he wanted were some Daniel Tiger toys.  Check.  We also got him the Peanuts gang, because really we love them (and Teague did too!).  He was also spoiled with lots of moola from both of his sets of grandparents.

We were just going to take him on a date with his parents, but then decided to bring the whole family to...
SKY ZONE!!!
Oh my goodness, if you have never been to a trampoline park before, you need to go!  I had pre-bought our tickets online and I'm so glad I did, because if I had purchased them there, I might have been to shy to jump and just got them for the kids.  However, since I had already paid for my ticket I decided to go ahead and make a fool of myself and jump.  It was so much fun!  I didn't feel like a "40 year-old mother of 6", I just felt like "Jennifer" again and that was really great!

I was too busy jumping to take any pictures, so just pretend these ones from Google are of us, ha ha!

Happy Birthday Teague!  We love you so much!!
