April 2022

The snow has melted, hooray!

We are ready for all the new life spring brings!

I love my crazy crew!

Culture Night 2022

In 2021, NoĆ© got to dance the Hawaiian Hula.  In 2022, she got to dance traditional Japanese dances.  I'm so grateful she gets to have these wonderful experiences!

In the Mission Field

I love seeing pictures of Elder Reil in the mission field!  I'm so thankful for his service to the Lord and to the people of Toronto!

New Food Stall

Our friend in India sent us these photos of his new food stall.  Oh how I wish we could help everyone we know be happy, healthy, and successful!

Spring Bling

I found a fun website (Monte Loka) that has rings, earrings, necklaces, bracelets, watches, as well as men's jewelry... all for free!  The only catch is you have to pay shipping (about $10-15 per item) and you have to give a review of the items you receive.  Since I took photos to share with my reviews, I thought I'd add them here, in case someone wants to get some fun jewelry of their own!

"Special" Needs

A poem by April Vernon

They say that I have "special" needs,

and while that's partly true,

the needs that matter most to me

are the same ones you have too.

I NEED TO BE ACCEPTED.

I need friends that make me smile.

I need a chance to learn and grow,

feeling valued all the while.

Sure, I need some extra help

and some things I can't do,

But I hope you'll see beyond all that...

Inside, I'm just like you.

I am so glad Macy chose me to be her mom.  She is such a blessing to our whole family!

Happy March 21st (Down syndrome day)!

Spring? Cobbler

To celebrate the first day of spring, I made a peach cobbler.
(I forgot to take a picture, so this is a pretty one from Google, ha!)

It doesn't seem like spring yet, we just keep getting more snow...

...and even MORE snow!!

MTA Conference

Leonard flew out to Salt Lake City for the annual MTA Conference.

He listened to great speeches by Lincoln Cannon,

Evan McMullin,

Ben Blair, and many others.

He also got to see lots of family and friends- like my brother, Brent,

Carl Youngblood,

Chris Bradford,

Ben Shaffer,

Rachel, and Gary,

and his niece, Sydney.

He also got to spend time with the awesome Cannon family.

The Salt Lake Temple being renovated.

The beautiful organ pipes inside the Tabernacle.

More beauty inside the Assembly Hall.

I just wish I could have gone with him!

Simple St. Patty's Treats

Having just returned home from the hospital our Irish celebrations were only some simple rainbow treats- Fruity Pebbles for breakfast...

...and macarons after dinner.
