Loreena McKennitt

Leonard and I went on a fabulous date to see Loreena McKennitt at her Christmas concert in Ottawa.

The venue was awesome- The Christ Church Cathedral.

Len's been a fan of hers since high school, and went to another concert of hers back in the day.  He introduced me to her in college.  She has such a beautiful voice, and the "olde" songs she sings give me a cool nostalgic feeling for days gone by.  Her Christmas music is especially my favorite, so this was a very special treat!

The intimacy of the venue was very welcoming.

The church isn't very grandiose, but pretty in its own right.

The lady herself with all her players.  These are some very talented musicians indeed, and we had a wonderful evening!

Gavin's #16

Our Santa Baby is 16!!
We celebrated him with some tag at LaserMaxx.

We also had a little party at home.

Santa bring Christmas gifts to every child, but only birthday gifts to those born in December ;).

We lost so many of our beloved books moving back from India.  Gavin requested the Percy Jackson series again.

It's time for cake!

Happy Birthday to you!

Make a wish!

Gavin, I hope this new year is as sweet as your cake!  Love you!!

It Snowed Last Night!

Christmastime is the only time I like the snow.  Mother Nature obliged!

We woke up to EVERYTHING being blanketed in white.

Later on, Len and I ventured to the park to walk in our winter wonderland.

It's so pretty!  But, it's so cold, ha ha!

Gingerbread Village, Men, and Ugly Sweaters

All 10 of us worked together to make a Gingerbread village centerpiece for our dining table.

Well, Macy supervised.

Macy liked the work she saw us all doing.

Yes, I did get to do the mansion, ha ha!

It didn't last long, my kids love sugar!

On Christmas Eve, we also decorated some ginormous gingerbread men with ugly sweaters.  We left some for Santa and he thought they were tacky, but tasty!
