Hot Wavz

Noé and I couldn't wait to try out her new hair curlers- Hot Wavz.  Noé noticed that we have also bought their products Hot Bunz and Hot Huez in the past, go figure.  She has so much hair we ran out of curlers, so Len ran to the store to buy a second box (he's such a trooper!).
I told her she looks like a Lalaloopsy Doll.

These curlers are the easiest things I have ever used (and I've used MANY different kinds of curlers in my day).  Her hair is so long though, that I just pulled them down to get all of the ends of her hair in.

The next morning's results.

I think the curls turned out great!

All brushed through and ready for church.

I wish I had her good hair gene!

thirTEEN

My twins turned 13 on a Saturday this year, so the day before they brought in mini-cinni rolls to share with their classmates at school.  That night Noé had a slumber party, then the next day Kaleb cooked us a feast.  On the Sunday, we had our little family celebration for them.

These two are the best of friends and worst of enemies!  I suppose all siblings are like that, especially twins.

Kaleb got some contact lenses.

And looks so handsome.

Noé got her first pair of high-heeled shoes.

And looks so grown-up!

They each got their birthday journals (finally), cards from us and both of their sets of grandparents (with lots of moolah in theirs), facebook accounts, and

Ticket To Ride and Hot Wavz.
I can't wait to play Kaleb's game with him and to use the new curlers in Noé's hair (and my own!).
Happy Birthday to our Wonder Twins!!

Junior Chef

Kaleb didn't want a party for his birthday celebration this year.  Instead, he wanted to cook a feast for us!

I couldn't think of a better way for him to celebrate either, ha!

He printed up this fancy menu, and prepared each item from scratch.

French Onion Soup with Homemade Croutons.

The best Shepherd's Pie I have ever eaten with Yorkshire Pudding.

Almond-Ginger-Peach Treacle Tart a la mode.

And yummy butter beer!
When I read the Harry Potter books, I always imagined this to be a cold drink like root beer or cream soda, but it is a warm drink like hot cocoa and is quite tasty!

Kaleb was a little disappointed with the tart and wished he made Hagrid's Custard Sponge Sandwich Cake again instead.  But everything was delicious to me!  Well done Kaleb!  I will eat your food anytime!

Slumber Party!

For Noé's 13th birthday celebration, she wanted to have her first slumber party.
I am still in denial that I am the mother of teenagers!

Eight of her friends were able to join us.

They spoiled her with lovely gifts.

After making their own pizzas, Noé wanted apple pie and ice cream for their dessert.

When the girls first arrived I had them all introduce themselves to each other and say how long they've known Noé.
Emma is her longest friend as they are only 12 days apart and became playmates at around 10 months old.

Brianna is a close second, as I still remember her mom pregnant with her.

Lucy and she first met when they were two.

Alesa is Lucy's sister and was just a baby when they met.

After we moved back from Taiwan, Noé met Grace,

Jessica,

and Morgan- all in the second grade.

Shannon moved to the neighborhood in fourth grade.

This guy made a special appearance at the party (and even received a couple of gifts from the girls) and has known her her whole life!

3 of the girls had a late-over and stayed until 10 pm.

But everyone got a goody bag that Noé made for them with shampoo, conditioner, lotion, nail polish, and a sleeping mask.

The rest of the girls stayed until 10 am the next morning and pretty much embodied this picture for the rest of the night.  They watched movies, played the Wii, sang, danced, and talked of course.  The next morning we made them a feast of palachinkas (crepes) with lots of toppings.  Now Noé can't wait to host her next sleepover!
