Child's Play

Ali had fun playing Carcassonne with her Dad.

Then with me building a garden.

Playing with these flowers is surprisingly satisfying.

She also drew this family picture.

Which inspired me to draw some more.

I think to enjoy life, we must stay childlike in our hearts!

Freedom Convoy

The Freedom Convoy came from across the country to Ottawa and stayed for 3 weeks.  My friend, Rebecca Jack, is an awesome photo journalist, and she took photos all throughout that time.  A picture is worth a thousand words, so here's her essay:

 

More Fun before Farewell

The night before Noé flew back to Hawaii, she treated us to delicious Indian take-out for dinner.

The morning before she left, Leonard took her and the big kids to Green's Creek to go sledding (while I stayed home with Macy).

I loved having this girl home again!

She also gave herself a new manicure and stole some rings from my jewelry box, ha ha!

These kiddos love their big sis!

And she loves them.

Blanketed in Snow

I love the snow, except for one thing... it's freezing, ha ha!

But it sure does look pretty!

January 2022

It's a new year, so it's time for a new monthly tradition.  Instead of taking shots looking out the front door and looking out the back door, I'm going to take a shot looking at the house.

I'll still take a picture of our holiday shelf, although this month I forgot.  I only have this one from Macy's birthday party, whoops!

The most important is the monthly family photo!

And I may take some extra ones, like these cute sisters dressed up like twinsies.

New Year's Eve

It was free to ride the O-train in the month of December.  So on New Year's Eve, we rode it to the Byward Market.

We got some yummy Beaver Tails and did some shopping at the Rideau Center.

We rode the train all the way to the end at Tunney's Pasture, then we turned around and rode it all the way back to the other end at Blair.  Back at home, we had poutine for dinner.

Some cute stuffies that Noé ordered the kids for Christmas, finally arrived!

They learned how to turn their frowns upside down.  It's always better to smile!

We stayed up until midnight, then watched the ball drop in NYC.  Farewell 2021!  Welcome 2022!
