Uncle Kevin in town

Kevin had a work conference in Montreal, so he came a few days early to visit us in Ottawa.  We were so glad he came!  Len took him downtown to visit the Parliament buildings.
(Notice Kevin's "DADD" shirt- Dads Against Daughters Dating, ha!)

The library of Parliament is under this dome and the Peace tower is like Big Ben's cousin.

Supreme Court.

The next day the kids were home from school, so we all ventured to Rideau Hall (the Governor General's residence).

We took a tour inside too.  This is the ball room where receptions are held.  Leonard went there before when the Ambassador of Luxembourg presented his letters of credential to the Governor General.

It was the day of the Teddy Bear Picnic (hence our big puppy with us), but we were too late to have his leg stitched up.  Maybe next year.

We still had a great time touring the building and its lovely gardens.  Here we are in the tent room.  Doesn't it look so fun?  They used to play tennis in this room back in the day.

Inukshuk.

The fluffy peonies were out in full bloom.  I love these flowers!

Ali was happy to meet her Uncle Kevin for the first time.

But her little face shows how sad we all were when he had to leave.
Thanks for coming Uncle Kevin!
