Do you believe in Fairies?

A little princess wanted to know if fairies really existed.


So she invited some of her dear friends over to see if they could find out.


Lucy, Zara, Hanna, Noe, Ryelie, and Emma (3 friends couldn't make it) set out on a magical quest. They found a letter from Fairydom and 8 clues that led them to find fruit snacks, popcorn, bracelets, crowns, wands, and skirts they got to decorate with flowers and ribbon.

The princess' family supported her all along the way.

Especially her twin brother.

They even played pin the nose on the clown (notice the pink nose, another cheater?) and pass the parcel to win bubble bath, glitter pens, and rolos.

The princess also got some fabulous gifts in the form of a Barbie, Polly Pocket, Bead Set, Craft Set, and her own stash for a movie night (popcorn bowl, chips, cheetos, cookies, 7up, and "Barbie and the Magic of Pegasus"). She also got treated to see Princesses on Ice the night before by a few of her friends. She too got music, candles, and wishes before eating the cake and ice cream.

Her wish came true! She learned that fairies do exist!

She's a little bit precious,

and a little bit punk. But she's always our princess and we love her so much!

Simple Celebration

Kaleb and Noe's birthday fell on a Sunday this year, so in the morning we all went to church together.


In the afternoon our neighbors, Bailey and Kelsey brought over gifts for the kids.


We had them open the gifts from us as well (just a few shirts and a stuffed animal of their school mascot).


Afterwards we had ice cream cones and went on a walk through the neighborhood. Do you think Teague felt jipped that he didn't get one? Do you think it's ironic to be eating ice cream while you're wearing a jacket? Oh, to be young again!

Kaleb was so excited for his birthday party. He was just a little disappointed that he could only invite 8 friends. 2 weren't able to make it, but he was so glad Melissa, Michelle, Jessica, Quinn, Tommy, and Morgan were. He also let Noe and Gavin join the adventure!


He may be a pirate, but his family still loves him!

Sometimes these 2 take each other for granted, but I know they love each other very much and they always will!

These pirates found a treasure map with 8 clues to help them find buried treasure. Along the way they filled their loot bags with popcorn, fruit snacks, stickers, foam swords, and even some gold (loonies).

This game started as musical chairs, but as each new person got "out" a dance party began!

Getting ready to play pin the nose on the clown, wait a minute- doh!

Now each contestant was blindfolded and then spun around several times. The rules were to then walk towards the clown and as soon as you touched the wall, pin your nose on (no feeling around, because that's cheating.) That yellow nose looks awfully suspicious! Notice the red rectangle nose too- I couldn't find my other circle, but my square peg Kaleb didn't mind.

Kaleb was spoiled by his generous friends with Monopoly, Battleship, Webkinz, a remote control ATV, a physics construction set, and his own supplies for a movie night (cool popcorn bowl, chips, cheetos, cookies, 7up, and "Alvin and the Chipmunks"). It was then time to sing, make a wish and blow out the candles before serving up some cake and ice cream.

His wish came true, this pirate had a very pleasing party!

Let the Festivities begin!

This year since Kaleb and Noe were turning 8, we decided to have separate birthday parties for them. Well, when all is said and done they will get to celebrate their birthday 5 times!! It started back on Friday, March 5th when they took in a treat to their classmates- Oreo Truffles (a big success!) The next day Saturday, March 6th we had a Pirate party for Kaleb. Sunday, March 7th was their actual birthday, but we just had a small family party with our neighbors. This past Saturday, the 13th we had a Princess party for Noe. Now this coming Saturday, the 20th will be their baptism along with their dear friend, Emma. I love these 2 so much, and I'm glad we're taking the month to celebrate them. I'll post pics of each event soon.

Snowmen At Night

One night a snowman family visited our home.


Mister Purple shoveled our driveway for us.


Mistress Yellow cleaned our house.

Master Blue made us cinnamon rolls for breakfast.

Miss Red painted us a picture.

Master Green sang us a song.

Master Orange told us a story.

It was a lovely visit from this snowman family, but then I woke up and realized it was just a dream.

Winterlude

We finally made it out to skate on the world's largest skating rink AKA the Rideau Canal during the last weekend of Winterlude. The weather was perfect and we had a wonderful time!

Len skated well considering he got 2 different sized skates from the rentals. Lucky for us, they didn't charge him.

Kaleb is very safety-conscience and made sure we brought helmets for Noe and him. He was a little distraught that Len and I didn't have them though.

Noe was thrilled to find this snowball that was almost bigger than her.

Gavin thought the best part was definitely eating Beaver Tails.

Teague thought the Beaver Tails were the best thing to eat too, and was a little disappointed with his Gerber lunch.

Along the way, we ran into Colonel By (the designer of the Canal that opened in 1832) with his mother and sister.

We also found some tee pees and a couple of beautiful native girls.

I love this old bridge.

I was a little scared seeing the huge tractors sweeping snow off the ice. I guess anything can walk on water- if it's frozen!

We finished all 7 kilometers of the canal, however we only skated about 4 of it, then traded in our skates for boots and walked the rest (Kaleb and Noe were troopers, but were getting t-o-o slow). After, we checked out the beautiful ice sculptures at Confederation Park. These butterflies were my favorite, and I liked their title too- Resurrection.

There were these cute colored ice cubes for the kids to build their own ice sculptures with too.

The cutest thing was the little enchanted forest covered in knitwear. Would anyone like to teach me how to knit?

Even though I prefer to hibernate when it's cold, we had a great day celebrating the season!

It's Good to have Friends

In the morning the little boys got to go play, and in the evening the big kids got to have a sleepover. Friends make life fun!


Watch this space- I could see a romance blossoming between these two.

We thought 2 could sleep on the hide-a-bed, while the other 2 slept on a foam on the floor. However, they thought if they all rotated 90* they could all fit. Kaleb later went up to his own bed, but the other 3 made it all night.
