March Break

The kids were off school for a week, so we had some fun...

...play dates with friends, Cayden, Kate-Lynn, and Grace;

the kids went 5 pin bowling with friends, and Len went 10 pin bowling with the Elder's Quorum;

I took the kids to the Toonie Tuesday Movies to see Hugo;

we treated the family to buy one get one for $0.99 Blizzards at Dairy Queen;

we all went downtown to the Rideau Centre to window shop (and I got new clothes for the 2 weddings in May, hooray!);

we drove down to Lake Placid, New York for lunch, to walk around the beach of the frozen Mirror Lake, and to book our hotel for July (can't wait!);

Leonard and I went on a fancy date to A'Roma Meze- yu, um! (when can we go back?);

I went to an uplifting Relief Society celebration with my amazing sisters from church.

*We had a great week. Hope your spring break was/is/will be great too!

Happy Spring!

The first day of spring is one thing, and the first spring day is another.
The difference between them is sometimes as great as a month.

My twins are TEN!

Ten years ago today, I became a mother and Leonard & I began this fabulous adventure called parenting. Our lives are so much richer, fuller, and have more joy than I ever could have imagined before we had children.

Kaleb you are such a kind, smart, handsome boy.

Noe you are such a sweet, talented, beautiful girl.

We love you so much, are so proud of the people that you are, and are so glad you are ours!!
Have a very happy birthday!

KWAK

Meet Kwak,

the Kub Kar

and his Kreator, Kaleb.

He didn't win any races at the Kub Kar Rally on Saturday, but he did earn his Driver's License and a Trophy!

He's excited to join LMNT in the Hall of Fame now.

(Over the years with 4 boys, I'm expecting that Hall of Fame to be quite large- ha ha!)

Hop, Leap, Jump

It's Leap Day and that always makes me think of Leap Frogs. I made up some mint oreo truffles for a treat for my family, and the kids loved these cute little toy frogs.

My favorite frog is Kermit and I was hoping to buy the new movie The Muppets for the kids. Since it's not out yet, I got them the original The Muppets Movie. I have to admit it's not my favorite Muppets show. Darn, I should have got The Muppets Take Manhattan.

After the kids were in bed, Len and I enjoyed the Leap Year movie. It's a cute romantic comedy and I LOVE that it showed "marriage" as being what is right.

Four more years and we'll be leaping again!

An Airplane and a Farm

I finished my virtual travel around the world blog today. Check it out (http://airplanefarm.blogspot.com/) and let me know what you think!

Our weekend with FLD

At school, Gavin's class has a pet. He's a stuffie named Fuzzy Little Dragon. Each weekend he gets to go home with a different student. This weekend it was Gavin's turn and he was so excited!

On Friday night they watched Star Wars and had Cinnamon Bun popcorn.

On Saturday they went to Daniel's birthday party and saw the movie The Muppets.

On Sunday morning they went to church.

And on Sunday evening the missionaries (Elder McLean and Elder Lockhart) came over for dinner.

Monday morning came too soon and it was time for Fuzzy to go back to school. Gavin and all of his siblings were excited he got to come and stay with us.

One-Zero-Zero

One hundred days of school! Gavin made this poster with 100 beads for his class celebration. Next year we'll make a gum-ball machine with 100 pom poms as the gumballs, since this year I wasn't prepared with enough pom poms- tee hee!

Crystal Garden

The kids had the day off school for Family Day.

This year Len had the day off too (from paternity leave, he usually has to work it as it's a provincial holiday and he's a federal employee).

We went downtown for the last day of Winterlude.

There were still lots of ice sculptures in good shape. This "Juno" award was really tall.

This little ice blocks that the kids could build with were so bright. Kool-aid?

Then we saw these neon ice wolves. Turns out they were really made of plastic.

More interesting art- trees built of ice skates and hockey sticks.

And a mountain of lost mittens. Our tax-paid dollars hard at work, ugh!

Cute little ice cabin.

And ice car.

And nice warm chair, ha ha!

All our boys. Teague would not keep his hat or mittens on and kept taking his coat off. Eventually, we had to put it on backwards so he couldn't unzip it. Crazy kid, it was cold out!

All our girls.

Since we've already tried Beaver Tails, we were going to get some Taffy on Snow from the Sugar Bush.

However, at $3 a pop for frozen maple sap, we decided to get a dozen Tim Horton's doughnuts and hot chocolate to share instead.

It was a fun day, but I am really looking forward to spring!
