On a Saturday afternoon, a huge storm hit. A neighbor captured this cool shot of it starting to roll in. Leonard captured a video of the rain coming down our street horizontally at about 100 mph. Almost as quickly as it started, it stopped leaving behind lots of damage. We were lucky and were only without power for 32 hours. Many people in the city were without theirs for almost a week!
Our church was cancelled on Sunday, but we were all stir crazy. We took the kids on a neighborhood walk and stopped to let them play at the 5 parks near our home. Here are some of the trees that didn't survive the fury.
I'm so grateful no one in our neighborhood was harmed. Unfortunately, more than 10 people across the city lost their lives in the storm.
