A Birthday (part 3)

Noe became a Young Woman at church on Sunday.

So she got a new dress to celebrate the occasion.

She is our princess (and still a barbarian). She's such a ham in front of the camera, ha!

Even though they are fraternal twins,

I think it must be nice to have a peer as a sibling, to be beside you through each new stage of life.

Kaleb also became a Young Man at church.

He's such a handsome boy and looks great in his new suit.

After church, his dad conferred the Aaronic Priesthood on him and ordained him as a deacon. Bishop Wagner and Brother Cameron were also in the circle and President Fortin was also present. Next week Kaleb will help pass the sacrament.

I feel so lucky to share my life with these sweet kids!

*An update: Kaleb passed the sacrament yesterday and did a great job. He also pointed out that each of our family members is in a different auxiliary organization now. Len is a member of the Elder's Quorum, I'm in Relief Society, Kaleb is in Young Men's, Noé is in Young Women's, Gavin is in Senior Primary, Teague is in Junior Primary, and Hiram is in Nursery. The only auxiliary we're not a part of is the High Priest's Quorum- whew!

A Birthday (part 2)

Kaleb invited 5 friends over for a video games tournament to celebrate his birthday. Unfortunately, we had to do it on the first Saturday of March break, so only 2 friends were able to come. I think they all had a good time though, and this party was my most stress-free party yet!

We got the place all decorated with red and blue balloons.

Then the games began!

One of our nunchucks stopped working and our 4th couldn't be found, so Len made a quick trip to buy a new one. It's a good thing we live close to shopping!

The boys each got a "Trophy" for their participation. We then made mini-pizzas and butterscotch milkshakes.

was a 6-layer cake,

that didn't survive the night. Oh dear!

Kaleb was a good sport though, and happy with his tasty (yet not so pretty) cake anyway.

Make a wish!

We smashed layers together, so everyone could at least try all 3 flavors- butterscotch, vanilla, and chocolate. I flavored each of the layers with pudding and I think that was my problem. The cake was just too moist to hold the weight.

Kaleb was spoiled with more cash and his first Nerf gun. Now we have to get Nerf guns for the rest of our kids so they can defend themselves. I see lots of family fun with these things in the future!

Kaleb had a great day with his friends and siblings.

A Birthday (part 1)

turned 12! Yelp! How are my babies 12? They are growing up way too fast, and I think they should just knock it off (tee hee).

After a yummy dinner of Chinese food, they opened their gifts. Kaleb got a book on Hieroglyphs (that he must have checked out of the library a dozen times). Noe got a Rainbow Loom (that she had been begging for for months).

Kaleb also got a new suit for church and a future missionary badge. Noe got a new dress and a necklace with the YW value colors. They also got journals with letters from their extended family encouraging them along this next journey of their lives.

They always get spoiled by both of their sets of grandparents! They can't wait to go shopping with all of their moolah!

They took cupcakes to school to share with their class,

then we had them a la mode at home as a family.

(They're also each getting a six-layer cake for their individual birthday parties.)

Hiram LOVED his cupcake and tried to eat it in ONE bite, ha!

The Home Stretch

I'm 28 weeks pregnant and officially in my last trimester.

I don't have to wait 14 weeks to reach the end though, only 11. My OB/GYN has already booked the operating room for my C-section. May 26th at 8:00 am, here I come, I mean here baby comes!

Hero

The other day Gavin asked me what he had to do to become a hero. I told him I could think of two things- love others and try to help them. He responded with, "What about being kind, gentle, and funny?" I told him I thought those were great ideas too. So he then summarized, "To be a hero I need to do 5 things- care for others, help them, be kind, be gentle, and be funny." You got it buddy! And guess what? You're already my hero!!

I have to add another little Gavin story. During March break we watched the Harry Potter movies. After Harry kisses Cho for the first time, Gavin asks, "How did he learn to do that?" Oh Gavin, you're too young to kiss girls!

I had to add this pic of my 3 little guys. They are at such a fun age and usually play so well together. Love it!

Twelve Twins

Today my twins are twelve! I am so glad I am a mother and I am so thankful for each of my children. Kaleb and Noe will get quite the celebrating this year. As today is a PD day, there is no school so they brought in cupcakes yesterday. Tonight they will get dinner of their choice (Chinese food) and open their gifts from us. This Saturday will be Kaleb's friend party, then the following Saturday will be Noe's. This Sunday Noe will begin Young Women's at church, and Kaleb will be ordained to the Priesthood. Next Sunday, Kaleb will get to pass the sacrament for the fist time. That reminds me, I need to schedule an appointment to have their pictures taken in their new suit and dress!
