Mini Grad Party

Covid-19 cancelled graduation for Kaleb and Noé, but we were still able to throw them a mini party in honor of their accomplishments.  However, the corona restrictions still threw a wrench in our plans.  We would have loved to invite more friends to join us, but there was a strict 10-person only rule for gatherings.  Our group was exactly 10, but we wish we could have had the more the merrier instead.

The grads gathered around the back, then...

...one by one they came around the corner while the MC (Gregg) read a fun introduction of them.

Time to turn those tassels!

And toss those caps!

Luckily, nobody lost an eye, ha ha!

Watch the cute video of them in slow-mo!

Nikki, Mary, and I decorated the Martin's backyard to look like a graduation oasis.  Of course, we took lots of pics in front of our lovely backdrop.

This was the pretty table we set the food and drinks on.

And the tables we ate dinner at.

Everything came together so beautifully!

Even the silverware was tied up with ribbons that had 2020 charms on them.

I love these colors!

Mary made the salad, while Nikki made the chicken and rice dinner with pineapple salsa.  We also had lovely bubbly (sparkling cider) to drink a toast for each of the grads given by their dads.

They agreed everything was delicious!

I made two desserts for everyone- peach cobbler a la mode, and chocolate mousse.

The grads were also given their seminary diplomas and a copy of How to Win Friends and Influence People by Dale Carnegie.

All 10 of us.

You did it grads!

With lots of hard work and even more silliness.

We're so proud of you!

Now jump into your futures!

We know each of you have lots of wonderful mountains to conquer!

I also made this slide show that we played after the dinner.
I hope we can do something special like this when each of our children graduate!
