Before Hiram completed his first week of school, a classmate tested positive for Covid sending the rest of the class home for online school for 2 weeks. Hiram was supposed to be tested 5 days later and during that time Gavin started coughing and had a runny nose. Leonard, Kaleb, and I also had mild congestion (probably from the weather changing), so we decided we'd all go to get tested. Since Noé, Teague, Ali, or Macy didn't have symptoms they couldn't be tested. Still all 9 of us were there for FIVE hours!!
The 5 hour wait was miserable enough, but that stick up your nose? More vicious than it looked!
“Before getting in line”. We arrived at this sign after three hours...
Maybe this should have been the first sign. Oops...
“could be long”... after four hours in line...
Yes, the nurse did tell us off for taking this. But it’s not like we were violating someone else’s privacy... And I think our 5 hours in line earned it!
Fun times... and then we waited. Luckily, all of our tests came back negative (5 days later for all of us, except Kaleb who had to wait 7 days for his results, ugh!).
The last week of school, Gavin's class was exposed, so he had to do online class then. We never got him tested as he never exhibited symptoms and the Christmas break would have been a 3 week incubation period. We're now in our 3rd week after break and doing online school. During the break Leonard felt awful for 2 days so he went and got tested again. He tested negative for Covid, but positive for Shingles, poor guy!
