Hiram's #9

We celebrated Hiram's 9th birthday with a family party the Saturday before his special day.  He chose the menu of crepes for breakfast, burritos for lunch (which we didn't eat as breakfast was more like brunch), and chicken nuggets and french fries for dinner.  Yes, it has to be a birthday to have those things for dinner, ha!

Hiram took the light blue gift on the left, so we could play pass the parcel.

Everyone won a prize!

He opened most of his presents, but wanted to save one to open on his actual birthday.

Pokemon!

Gotta catch 'em all!

He also got cards from is grandparents.

After dinner we had this chocolate birthday cake I made him with cookies and cream frosting.

Make a wish!

His best friends.

Yum!

We ended his party with watching his movie of choice, Frozen.

On his actual birthday, we woke up to a light dusting of snow.  I don't think that's ever happened on his birthday before.  We had crepes again for breakfast.  We couldn't send a treat to school for him to share with his classmates, so we put a special treat in his and his siblings' lunches.  His teachers also gave him a book.  For dinner we had quesadillas and ate the second half of his cake.  He also opened his last gift.

More Pokemon!
We watched Frozen 2 for our FHE activity, then tonight we watched Once Upon A Snowman.

Happy Birthday Hiram!  I hope you have a nifty year being nine!
